Connecticut Patent of the Day:”Sit Up Straight!”

How often did you hear some version of that when you where growing up? (or maybe say it to your kids today?)  Well, here’s an invention from the Berger Brothers Company of New Haven, (patent # 2,507,768,  applied for in 1946 and granted in 1950). The “Device for Posture Study” would perhaps show the evils put upon your body when not sitting or standing straight.

The Berger Brothers Company made a line of corsets, girdles, belts, brassieres and surgical corsets. Wonder if the folks who worked there had good posture?
