Connecticut Patent of the Day: The Gong Show!

Anybody out there remember the original Gong Show? Normal people doing really stupid things on TV for a whole lot of ridicule and a little bit of cash…….gotta love America.

Anyway, here is the CT patent of the day for July 20th. A Toy Telephone patent application from July 20th 1933. (#1,999,001) The assignor of the patent was the Gong Bell Manufacturing Company of East Hampton,  Connecticut. A company with a very interesting manufacturing history beginning in 1866 and lasting into the 1960’s. Besides some very cool and collectible toys they even made hardware for parachutes during WWII!
